trumpet - A trumpet or hand-stop flute (talulupan? also known as howler-monkey trumpet). Made of luwe bamboo (guadua sp.), bound with wulawaito (silk grass, bromelia sp.), with part of quill of the feather of Ooko (grerat currassow, crax rubra) as valve.

Part of a group of objects, (2005.629-49), bought, bartered or received as a gift through the intermediary of the collectors' extended family. Mimi Suku made all 5 of these flutes (2005.639-2005.643) on request. Their manufacture was documented and a full explanation of the contexts of their use was given in Wayana by Mimi Siku.
