Visiting cards attached to catalogue card: (1) 'William Johns. Auckland, New Zealand. President, Auckland Fruitgrowers' Union. [on reverse] Prime Minister's Office, Wellington, New Zealand, 14th April, 1904. To Whom It May Concern. The bearer of this, William Johns, Esq., is President of the Auckland Fruitgrowers' Union, and one of our successful and deserving colonists. He is on a visit to the Mother Country and the United States. Whilst in the States it is his intention to make enquiries respecting the fruit growing industry, its culture, canning, preserving, etc., etc., and any assistance rendered him will be much appreciated by me. (signed) R. J. Seddon, Prime Minister.'
