Shell Valuable; Shell Ring - Circular section of Tridacna clamshell, ground into a disc with a hole drilled 0.4cm from the edge. The hole has an hourglass profile and a cut extends from the hole curving one quarter of the disc's circumference with evidence of pecking to initiate drilling on the surface. The catalogue card records the location as 'Lungga' with 'Guadalcanal' added later. Lungga is the local name for Ranongga Island and is not in Guadalcanal. [underlined] SHELL FOR MAKING AMULET [underlined] RIVERS COLL.'
