Carved stone face or mask. Small eyes indicated by drilled depressions, prominent nose and open mouth; small vertical lugs or ears at either side, with a drilled hole above, possibly for suspension; concave at rear; made from grey flecked stone with ground and partially polished surface; eyes have white accretions possibly from inlay.

Description (Physical description)
Stone mask. Nose and cheekbones in high relief. Drilled holes to indicate eyes, but not drilled through. Wide open mouth indicated by carving. A hole drilled on either side of the mask.

On 20 March 2015, Professor Mary Miller, Yale University, examined this mask and, based on stylistic grounds, dated it as Classic Teotihuacan, AD 100-600. Therefore, the Period field has been amended from '?Mezcala' to include this information.
