Description
shell - Catalogue card, handwritten in black ink, notes, 'Shell, decorated with rows of turquoise worn by important dancers at dances hanging to necklace but on left shoulder. This was considered the finest in Zuni and belonged to the Lieutenant Governor from whom I obtained it. The similarity to one in technique given by Donor to Brit: Mus: some years ago from Nazca, Peru is remarkable.'
