Description (CMS Description)
Undecorated model canoe with tall prows at bow and stern. The top of the prow at the bow has two round notches with a tuft of cockatoo feathers, which are tied to an inserted post with thin twisted string made from plant fibre. The top of the prow at the stern has a small subtriangular projection with an incised line around the outside and a crossbar at the top, which has broken on one side. The hull is cauked with Parinarium nut paste near the stern and on the portside; the other side consists of boards lashed together at intervals with plant fibre. Running along the keel are four semi-circular canes lashed to lugs protruding from the hull. At the bow and stern, three lugs on each side of the canoe are tied together with plant fibre.
