Context (Other owners)
There is no label or inscription on this object to indicate its provenance. The Z number register (#5) notes that it is associated to the Edgell collection [William Henry Edgell, whose collection came to MAA in 1923 and in 1961], but doesn't explain what evidence this statement is based on.

Context (Analysis)
Three strands doubled over of white Anadara shell discs with zones of alternating white discs and dark seeds, and blocks of red Chama discs. Beads are all well-finished and show some wear and polish. Long sections of the Anadara strands were clearly ground together, but other sections are irregular representing more random restringing.
