Description (CMS Description)
Pearl shell crescent shaped pendant. The top section is carved with two opposing frigate bird heads and a central rectangular protrusion extends from the top. Two holes are drilled in the centre, one near the top and one half way down. The frigate birds have incised eyes and beaks and a band of crosshatching is incised underneath with further incised patterns partly visible on the crescent shape below. The surface has a yellow-gold patina. [Heather Donoghue 06.06.2012]
