It may be that the material was made on Choiseul and/or traded to New Georgia, or was acquired on trips to both islands, and not properly documented. R.Hand 8/4/2009.

Context (Analysis)
A strand of white beads collected from Choiseul. Most are Pterygia, but there are beads of other taxa mixed in. Most obviously this includes two brown-pink beads made of Chama. Sizes are irregular indicating restringing at least once in the object's past. The beads are polished and smooth indicating both delicate finishing and wear.
