Bought in Uganda, in Karamoja, where it was used by the Karamojong, in 1967-9, during which the donor [Ms Celia Curtis] worked and travelled, collecting news stories. Ms Curtis travelled with Michael Adams, a landscape painter (now based in the Seychelles), and he remembers that she bought the headrests, the round based milk pot, and the lip plug from the current record, informally in Karamoja.
