Description

Janjin hat. Round hat built up of six segments with a gold conical protrusion in the centre, topped by a blue pompon. The main body of the hat is blue with silver and green details. The seams of each section are decorated with a green, gold and red ribbon. Along the brim of the hat semicircular black flaps with gold trimmings are folded upwards.

This hat is worn on formal occasions. 'Janjin' means general or commander. This style of hat first became popular after the leader of the People's Revolution of Mongolia, Sukhbaatar, wore it.
