Context (Production / use)
Made in 2004. Banská Bystrica: Historically, these villages have had rich contact with each other as well as Banská Bystrica through trade. There were direct contacts between the lace making villages and the villages of the Horehronie, as Horehronie ladies purchased lace produced in the villages for the decoration of their headdresses, skirts and aprons. The lace was peddled by the lace makers themselves. After the war, when the drive to industrialize Slovakia began in earnest, Banská Bystrica became the main target for the inhabitants of these villages searching for work outside of agriculture.
