Context (Production / use)
Made in about 1950. ·pania Dolina and Staré Hory: Lace has been produced in these villages, which originally grew up around copper mines, since the 17th century. It is still produced, mostly by elderly inhabitants, for the state folk art organisation, the ÚL’UV (Centre for Folk Art Production), for tourists and private customers who come directly to the producers to order specific products (tablecloths, coverings, Christmas decorations, collars, etc.)
