Karl Leonard is a noted artist, teacher, and maker of piupiu or dance skirts. These samples were gifted to Amiria and Rosanna by the maker during a research trip for the Pasifika Styles project to the Te Waananga o Raukawa, Otaki. They show an early stage of preparation for weaving piupiu.
