(Bio): Liana C.L. Chua, female collector Sold at the Main Bazaar, Kuching. Kuching’s Main Bazaar is the city’s main tourist shopping stretch, filled with souvenir shops, art and antique galleries and travel agents. Bought from a shop selling a large array of plastic basketry. A good example of how older weaving techniques and motifs have adapted to new materials. Price is roughly equivalent to or cheaper than a similar object made in a local village.
