Description
Club of a non-traditional paddle-shaped club (does not appear in Clunie (1977), for example). Blade has three serrated ridges on lower half, transverse ridge is reminiscent of culacula types. The club has a waisted shaft and two carved rings near lashed handle. The wood is painted black and has a natural orange colour. There is a lozenge and zizgzag motif, cross-hatched infill. The handle of the club is lashed with coconut sennit.

Material: vesi wood (intsia bijuga); black satin-finish housepaint, cut back through to the natural wood colour using a sgraffito technique. Construction: cut from a table-sawn plank.
