Description (CMS Description)
Christmas tree decoration in the form of a woman. A Maori wahine [woman] handmade cloth figure; dressed in traditional costume; padded; decorated with wooden beads, wire coils for hair, gold braiding to outline form and metallic fabrics. With original label showing information on maker and identification still attached. yellow stain on the reverse

Description (Physical description)
Polyurethane foam stuffing (poor condition). Stuffing has yellowed, stiffened and shows signs of crumbling in the near future.

As of 2024 similar Christmas tree decorations on sale in Museums Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand, were noted as 'Designed in New Zealand, and beautifully hand embroidered using traditional techniques in India'.
