Description

Green closed pot with handle and slit opening. The outer surface of the pot is completely glazed in dark green and decorated with light green foliate designs. Around the centre and top edge are bands of raised crimping.

Context (Field collection)
Collected by Dr Sander Ernst van der Leeuw between July and August 1991. Pottery from following villages have been studied in the region of Michoacan: Capula, Tzintzuntzan, Colonia Lazaro Cardenas, Santa Fé de Laguna, Huancito, Patamban and San José de Gracia. The number TZI-91/10 most certainly refers to the village Tzintzuntzan.

Description (Physical description)
Green closed pot with handle and slit opening. The outer surface of the pot is completely glazed in dark green. A handle is placed centrally in the oval shape of the pot. There is a slit opening. The edge of the top part is wavy. There is also a wavy rib running in the middle of the side walls of the pot. The surface is decorated with leaf design in lighter green.
