Description
Round, light brown, glazed plate. The rim is decorated with two dark brown bands, the outer with short pale lines, the inner bordered by pale lines. Between them is a band of pale brown decorated with curved, interlocking pale lines and dots. The central motif is an eight-petalled ‘flower’ in yellow, blue and red-brown, turning clockwise and surrounded by green leaf-like motifs.

Context (Field collection)
Collected by Dr Sander Ernst van der Leeuw between July and August 1991. Pottery from following villages have been studied in the region of Michoacan: Capula, Tzintzuntzan, Colonia Lazaro Cardenas, Santa Fé de Laguna, Huancito, Patamban and San José de Gracia. The number CAP-91/3 almost certainly refers to the village Capula.

Description (Physical description)
Round decorated plate with floral pattern, completely glazed. The inside of the plate is decorated in dark brown, yellow, beige and blue. The central motif consists of an eight-petalled ‘flower’ turning clock-wise. The flower design is surrounded by green leaf-like motifs. The whole central area is surrounded by a plain dark brown band followed by a brown band whith beige curved lines and dots. The rim of the plate is plain dark brown with short beige parallel lines.
