Description
Painting - Painting on silk, depicting scenes from the life of Krishna. The painting is mounted on two wooden batons, one at the top and one at the bottom. Two dark red woollen tassels hang from the top baton. In the central scene, Krishna is surrounded by six women, some holding musical intruments. Beneath this picture is a scene with cattles and swans. Around the edge of the painting are twenty-two smaller mythical scenes, painted inside circles.A piece of string is attached to the top baton, but this may have been attached by the collector for hanging the painting.
