Description

Weapon; Sword; Stick - Sword-stick with sharks’ teeth. Flat, tapering wooden stick to which twenty-one pairs of sharks’ teeth have been bound with fine string. The teeth are in two rows, one along each side of the stick. The two pairs of teeth at the ‘handle’ end are slightly larger. The string is elaborately bound through a row of holes along the centre of the stick and through a hole in each tooth. Two pairs of pieces of palm-leaf have also been bound to the stick, one pair at the ‘handle’ end and the other pair at the tip. The pieces of palm-leaf are fragile and slightly damaged.
