Pendant, in silver metal with some areas of gilding. Crescent shaped with granulated decoration, the bottom of the pendant has three loops from which hang three pieces of chain terminating in silver balls, the third loop is empty.

(bio): Mrs. Barbara Spalding. Mrs. Spalding and her husband Michael worked as English teachers in Taiz, Yemen, from 1997-98 during which time she collected silver and talked to the men in the market silver shops.

Description (Physical description)
Silver half-moon shaped pendant from which dangle jingle pendants. Two pendants are present and there appears to have been a third, which is now missing. The silver has a gilt finish in some areas.

Context (Analysis)
The accretions found on pieces in this collection, in addition to the appearance of the silver, suggest to Anita Herle that the metal used is a mixture of silver and other metals, possibly among them copper.
