Description

Diamond-shaped silver box with fitted lid. The filigree work on the body of the box is comprised of a repeating pattern of infilled circles - created with spirals of twisted wire - and individual petal shapes arranged in X-shaped designs, all held or accentuated by small silver circles, possibly tacks. The lid continues the circle motif, although the ‘petals’ have been arranged in ‘V’ shapes. The lid has a large red multi-faceted glass or paste stone set at its centre.
