Accession No

2003.138 A-C

Description

Two medals (A-B) in a presentation box (C), awarded on 20th of April 1968. The larger medal (A) is a gold-coloured metal star with a silver-coloured background. The star is decorated with red glass enamel, with the emblem of the Hungarian People's Republic: a Hungarian flag on a pale blue background with a red star above, surrounded by a wreath of wheat wrapped in ribbon. The medallion hangs from a red ribbon with a stripe of red, white, and green (the Hungarian flag), that has been folded into a triangle shape. The ribbon has a silver pin in it. The medallion of the other medal (B) is the same but smaller, and it has a pin on the back that connects it to a ribbon, folded into a small rectangle. The two medals sit inside depressions in the white fabric mount in the presentation box (C). The box is rectangular, with a red plastic cover, a hinged lid, and a metal clasp. There is a Disney sticker on the top, with a picture of Jasmine and the tiger from Aladdin; somebody (presumably the original owner) has written '1968.04.20' on the sticker, the date the medal was awarded.
