Donated to the Museum by Stephen F. Kostyal. Originally part of his personal collection, gathered between 1989-1992.

Context (Production / use)
The poster combines standard Socialist iconography (red star with wheat sheafs) with folk graphics (tulips) particular to Hungarian culture. Above central symbol text reads 'For the construction of Socialism'. Below reads in banner 'socialist work department/category'. In handwritten text below banner is '4th level' indicating achievement reached by the department. At sides of emblem is handwritten text indicating at left “Wagon Factory Division” and at right 'Technical'. Four signatures below are (as indicated) by the leaders of the so-called 4 posts or pegs within a factory or workplace: Party, Young Communist League, Union, Commercial leadership. Originally presented within the Ganz-MAVAG industrial conglomerate, Budapest.
