Labels & inscriptions: 'G' and 'Gavutu / Solomon Is / 1903' incised on the back of the fish-hook. This incision refers to 1903 as a point of collection, which may indicate that this (and a few other) objects have been collected by Commissioner Charles Morris Woodford - Woodford was acquainted with Lady Violet Beaumont.

Description (CMS Description)
Fish-hook formed of a shell shank and turtle-shell point lashed with thin plant fibre cords. The fish-hook is provided with a hackle of red cloth and red, white and blue glass beads. The shank is highly polished at the back.
