Context (Analysis)
A short string of tightly-strung white disk beads. They're produced from gastropod, although not Pterygia. These appear most likely to be Conus, but perhaps different species given that a very few have purple blotches that relate to patterning/pigmentation. They are well ground on faces and around the periphery with only subtle traces of the aperture. There is some rounding but most of the polish seems to relate to the original grinding/finishing. It is very short and apparently not restrung, so it is either a section of a larger strand, or a demonstrative short strand as seen with the Hamburg/Hingston-Quiggin material.
