Description (CMS Description)
Small wooden figure carved with a lug at the back for use as a canoe prow ornament. Very pronounced prognathous features. Face inlaid with butterfly-shaped pieces of nautilus shell forming a curved line from the eyebrows to the chin. Two 'screw'-like inlays on the cheek. One ear broken off, the other damaged. Hand clasped under the chin. European-type flat-top hat.
