Context (Acquisition Details)
Material excavated by Addyman in the 1960s and only recently donated to the Museum, when it was catalogued in bulk records. The finds from the Late Saxon settlement (see PCAS vol. 64) and those late Medieval and Post Medieval finds from a fishpond and 18th century house (see Post-Medieval Archaeology vol. 6) may sometimes share a single record, which will ultimately need to be split further.

42 bags containing bone. 13 also contain shell, 11 also contain teeth, one also contains a slate piece and two also contain an unglazed ceramic sherd. There are two chains of 'articulated' vertebrae held together on strings.

42 bags containing mostly bones and teeth from several animals; shells including oyster shells; several unglazed ceramic sherds including rims; a piece of slate and small pieces of earth. There are two chains of articulated vertebrae held together with red and white string. Some bones have been burnt.
