Context (CMS Context)
It is believed that West Harling is the excavation at Micklemoor Hill undertaken by J.G.D. Clarke and C.I. Fell, the results of which are publicshed in the Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society 1953 (no. 19, pp. 1-36) in an article called 'The Early Iron Age site at Micklemoor Hill, West Harling'. The site was an early Iron Age settlement made up of a circular band and shallow ditch with two causeways. The round house in the centre of the settlement and thought typical of the period. The jars are individually labelled with sample numbers listed on two card enclosed within the box.
