' It is likely that this object has been marked with the E 1910 number, which does not exist in the Accession Registers. The location below was taken from the E 1910 record, now incorporated into this record. Somerville.J. (2006-8-24).'

Context (CMS Context)
The items listed in the Accessions Register as E 1911.112.34-5 are as two miniature sword scabbards with miniature quivers attached, which are respectively labelled on the rear of each object, E 1910.74-5. This 1910 number does not match the 1910 Accession Register, Blue Book or Annual Report], These are now treated as two items (with one scabbard & quiver per 'item'). The items have been assigned the numbers E 1911.112.34 (E 1910.74) and E 1911.112.35 (E 1910.75).
The separate quiver that is referred to as E 1911.112.36 (AR 1911.803) may be a mis-transcription of one of the two associated quivers attached to E 1911.112.34-5, or refer to another item which has not yet been located. The other quiver from this collection, E 1911.112.33 (AR 1911.800), a 'flat, rectangular quiver of black lacquered wood' has been located and is probably not connected to this reference.
The Blue Book entry for E 1911.112.34-6 (AR 1911.801-3) could be either BB 1910.93 or BB 1910.99. The entry for BB 1910.99 reads '35 Ainu Objects - Japan - Brought thro' Joyce - From Roaper'. BB 1910.99 reads 'Ainu objects : viz. : [proceeds to list the objects, but does not give suffixes] - Japan - Purchased through T.A Joyce [a '?' in pencil]. Both entries state in pencil 'entered 1911E 112/1-34'. Therefore it could be that both entries are the same, with BB 1910.99 being a breakdown of the items listed under BB1910.93 - However, this is not certain. BB 1910.99 does not explicitly mention the two miniature sword scabbards, but does list '2 models'. It has a listing for 'Quiver (carving)', which could possibly be either the unidentified E 1911.112.36, or E 1911.112.33.
