Context (Amendments / updates)
Previously stated as 'Americas; ?South America' but it is likely that this casts comes from the Maudslay Collection and therefore, the Place field has been updated. Previously the Source field had been left blank. However due to all other Maya plaster casts in the Museum coming from Alfred P. Maudslay, this association has led us to believe that the source of this cast should also be assigned to him.

Context (Analysis)
This plaster cast was seen by Elisabeth Wagner and Sven Gronemeyer on 29th July 2016 who believed that is could be a cast taken from the base of Stela 7 at Yaxchilan. It would have been seen in a pair on the base, the other one being of a rat. See TEMP.00267.
