The 1888.45 card (in Joan Cunning's writing) actually says "Purchased from R.E. Froude", but this is not what it says in the Museum Annual Report.

This may be the object placed on deposit in 1887 (D 1887.13), the Annual Report entry reads: "A large axe-head, with expanding blade. Carib. S. Grenada. The Curator".

Description (Physical description)
Stone axe, black in colour, ground surface. Curved cutting edge; rounded sides; body tapers before flaring to fishtail-like butt end with a round notch in the centre. Lenticular to oval in cross section.
