Accession register description for 1901.3-12: 'Ten, rounded or square blades with expanding butt-end, in one large specimen it is indented, and in one small square example with expanding blade it is notched; in the others it is rounded or straight, in one triangular (vary from 9" x 5 to 2".9 x 2".2).'

Description (Physical description)
A small axe made from a ground, dark grey coloured stone, possibly basalt. Blade has a broad, rounded cutting edge and a lenticular cross-section. Butt is slightly narrowed with a slightly rounded end. Blade and butt are of a similar length. One face is almost flat, and one face is convex and bevelled towards the cutting edge.
