Accession register description for 1901.3-12: 'Ten, rounded or square blades with expanding butt-end, in one large specimen it is indented, and in one small square example with expanding blade it is notched; in the others it is rounded or straight, in one triangular (vary from 9" x 5 to 2".9 x 2".2).'

Description (Physical description)
A notched axe made from a ground, greyish brown coloured stone, probably volcanic. Blade has a lenticular cross-section, a slightly curved cutting edge, and sharply tapered sides. Butt end is in the form of a fish tail: the base of the blade has a rounded notch on each side; the butt is slightly expanded but narrower than the blade, and has a slightly rounded end.
