Accession register description for 1901.3-12: 'Ten, rounded or square blades with expanding butt-end, in one large specimen it is indented, and in one small square example with expanding blade it is notched; in the others it is rounded or straight, in one triangular (vary from 9" x 5 to 2".9 x 2".2).'

Description (Physical description)
A notched axe made from a chipped and ground volcanic stone, possibly basalt. Blade is disc-shaped with a lenticular cross-section. Base of the blade has a rounded notch on each side ending in a point. Butt is narrower than the blade and triangular in shape, with one edge chipped.
