Description

Shell chisel made from the lip of a queen conch (Strombus Gigas). Long and slender in shape with a truncated lens cross section and an off centre cutting edge. The surface has some areas of loss and pitting.

Examined by Ronald Taylor, Director of the Barbados Museum, on 2 June 1977. He notes: 'made from the outer lip of strombus gigas. This type is found in earlier sites and in middle and later. Discolouration of gray is due to charcoal.' See archive for notes (FA4/2/1)
