Context (Analysis)
Examined by Ronald Taylor, Director of the Barbados Museum, on 2 June 1977. He notes that it is 'made from outer lip of Strombus gigas. Use uncertain. Flat side polished edges always rough as if for some specialised use (with scraper?).' See archive for notes (FA4/2/1).

Description (Physical description)
Shell preform. Made from the outer lip of a queen conch (Strombus Gigas) and formed of two flat edges in a rounded rectangular shape. One face is partially ground with some small remnants of the outer shell surface.
