Description
Carved hollow wooden head, probably used as helmet/mask in Yoruba Gelede masquerades. Elaborate hair design covers roughly half of the surface area. Blue eyes, possibly Reckitt's blue, with hollow pupils. Possible scarification marks on cheeks. Human figure depicted in centre of forehead. Rim along edge of neck. Several long cracks in face. Front of the neck damaged/missing.
