The bundle is made of the same material as the ropes. The ?brass box, contains pieces of the Koran (a bundles of paper leaves, with a piece of wood, ?acting as a cover). The ropes are faded, one to brown, and some of them are attached together, ?from display. Context (Amendments / updates)
A rectangular piece of leather was found in a box with Z 25823, 1920.224, D 1898.33 and Z 11309, but it could not be confirmed what object it belonged to so the decision was made to TEMP it. However, it has now been determined that the rectangular piece of leather is a flap from inside the larger leather satchel. The records have therefore been amalgamated and the rectangular piece of has been reunited with Z 25823.
