Description

A brass hair ornament or pin. With a long, cylindrical pin that tapers to a point. The head or handle of the pin consists of a vertical and linear band of roughly octagonal sections, that appear similar to a honeycomb pattern. At each end are smaller vertical sections of the same pattern. The reverse of the object is undecorated.

Context (Field collection)
Collected by Northcote W. Thomas in Edo State, Ijeba (now Uzebba) town. The inhabitants belong to the Edo ethnic group, and also identify themselves further as Yekhee people. Description (Physical description)
Brass hairpin made in a wide H shape with the actual pin emanating from the middle bar. The H shape is decorated with deep circular impression similar to Z 13138, making it look like a relief. The edges of the shape are jagged. The shaft of the pin is undecorated.
