Description

Okbaiwo of Ute. Carved wooden staff with a central rattle section, with seated figure holding a bird and orb at the top. The figure is wearing a cap with two protrusions, possibly horns, and has scarification marks on their face and torso. They are holding a bird by the legs in their left hand, and an orb in their right. The rattle section is incised with geometric patterns and has three slits through which the rattle can be seen.

Description (Physical description)
Carved wooden staff with central rattle section and seated figure holding a bird and orb at the top. The figure is wearing a cap with two ?horns, has scarification marks on the face and torso and is holding a bird by the legs in one hand and an orb in the other. The rattle section is incised with geometric patterns and has three slits through which the rattle can be seen. The wood has several knots in it and is cracked and deteriorating. There are several damaged edges which chips of wood are missing.
