Description
Ekwe, obwe, ihreckwe, ihege, ohio. Bellows for a blacksmith's forge. Block of wood (ekwe) with funnels (obwe), sticks (ihreckwe), tubes (ihege), and bellows (ohio) of leather. The carved, wooden body of the bellows is hollow and sub-rectangular in shape with a slightly rounded base and ends. There are two carved holes on the obverse with leather bellows attached; that are secured in place with cane binding which is in turn tied to a metal ring. Beneath the bellow holes on one side are two craved holes.
