Description for Z 14223.1-2: 'Handles of two rattles no longer joined. Some of the basketry is coming loose and the handle missing off one of the baskets'.

Description (Physical description)
Conical basketwork rattle with a double loop handle. The base of the rattle is a gourd disc, on top of which is woven a cone with cane strips. There is a lighter coloured, wider strip in the middle. At the top of the cone, the cane is split into two bundles and turned back upon itself to form the handle. There are nuts or seeds inside the rattle.

Description (Physical description)
Uyo. Conical stake-and-strand rattle with a double loop handle at the apex and gourd disc to the base. Inside are loose seeds. Along the horizontal centre of the body is a strand of a comparatively broader, lighter woven plant fibre.
