Catalogue card, description from David Phillipson: 'Pair of man's formal/ceremonial trousers, worn with loose shirt or cape especially when travelling by mule or horse. Date: perhaps 1950s or thereabouts.'

Description (Physical description)
Catalogue card: 'Trousers made of black satin material and lined with similar peach-coloured material. Drawstring waistband. Broad panel between legs of trousers. Lower part of legs heavily embroidered with blue, green, purple, yellow, pink, red, white and black thread. Decorated in alternate broad and narrow bands of patterns, including floral and chevrons designs. Legs taper to ends which have 14-15 cm slits at bottom with two press studs for securing. At top of each leg on back of trousers is an embroidered design forming a row of tall-stemmed flowers. On each leg above this is an emboidered lion in yellow and blue, with a raised and flicking tail.'
