Description

Frontlet - One of three frontlets; two made respectively of plaited fibre and leaf sparthe, are decorated with three panels of oblong plaques of shell, orange in one and pink in the other, and two panels of cut cassowary quills. The former is bordered with the ground mouths of white cowry shells and the latter, along top and sides only, (?) pearl shell discs. The former is (?) with side tassels of cowry mouths and one of a row of small white overlapping shell rings, bordered with cowry shell mouths.
