Context (CMS Context)
"These implements are spun swiftly in the air attached to a line, when they cause a roaring sound which is intimation that all the men of the tribe are required to attend a feast or meeting in the Lavi House. In the case of cannibalistic feasts the women, girls and boys have all to leave the village on hearing the bullroarer and remain in the bush until a signal is given them that they may return".
