Context (Amendments / updates)
The Accession Register records Seligman as the donor for this object, so Seligman has been added to the Source field. Since the object also has an OH (Haddon) number, a question mark has been added in front of both Haddon and Seligman in the Source field.

[The catalogue card records Seligman as the collector and donor of this object, so the Source field has been updated with this information. It seems likely that Haddon has been entered into this field since the object has an OH number, but this is not certain so his name has been left with a question mark. Katrina Dring 21/08/2020]

Context (Amendments / updates)
This frontlet is likely made from pieces of Ovula ovum also known as the common egg cowrie, part of the false cowrie family. The short description has been updated to reflect this and to avoid confusion with the well known cowrie, which tend to be of the genus Monetaria.
