Description (CMS Description)
Necklace (sisi) of 11 sperm whale teeth strung on 17 strands of 3-ply plaited coir. The 17 strands are plaited into a large 3-ply plaited cord to the right of the object. The plait is undone to the other side. The top of each tooth is pierced with either one or two holes. Two of the teeth are attached to the coir cord with European twisted string. The tip of one of the teeth is severely damaged and another one is chipped.
