Very large yaqona bowl carved from a solid piece of vesi wood. Circular in shape. The wood is of a brown-red colour. The inside of the bowl has an orange patina. The lip is flat and about 6.5 cm thick. The dish rests on four thick circular legs, slightly tapering. A triangular lug carved with vertical grooves is placed under the lip. It is pierced with two holes to which is attached a long cord of coir (about 180 cm long). The cord is formed of 12 cords of 3-ply plaited coir 3 x 4 strands are ten braided together, forming three cords that are then twisted together. For about 11cm after the lug, the 3-ply plaited coir cords are wrapped in another 3-ply plaited cord that terminates in a knot from where originate the large twisted cord. One of the strands of the cord is broken at the lug. One deep crack runs from the lip towards the centre of the dish (about 28 cm).
